Editorial Policy & Mission

The "Journal of Astrobiology" publishes orginal research, reviews, theory, commentary and book reviews.
The "Journal of Astrobiology" is free, online, open access, and there are no submission or publication charges for articles.
The Journal's mission is the advancement of science and to provide the scientific community with a forum for debate (pro and con) via Open Peer Commentary.
We believe "Peer Review" should be a means of improving an article, to make it scholarly, up-to-date, and interesting, and provide guidelines for revision. All articles will be peer reviewed and revised accordingly.
The publishes reviews, theory, commentary and original articles.
The Journal will also publish book reviews.
All articles are peer reviewed and published as html and PDF documents.

Policy on Conflict of Interest The Journal of Astrobiology requires all authors to state and indicate, in their submission cover letter, any conflicts of interest, e.g. writing a review which promotes the financial interests of the authors or their employer. If there is a conflict of interest, this must also be specified at the end of the article (before the References), in a section titled: Conflicts of Interest.

Policy on Human and Animal Rights, and Informed Consent The Journal of Astrobiology publishes new research, reviews and commentary. If your article includes new research involving humans the Journal requires documentation of "informed consent." If your article includes new research involving animals, the Journal requires a statement that animal rights were respected.

Published by the Journal of Astrobiology.The Journal of Astrobiology was founded in 2018. A majority of the Editors collectively "own" a majority interest in the Journal which is free, online, open access, and devoted only to the advancement of science.
